A rare and sculptural table lamp by Elvio Becheroni, designed in the early 1970s, this “Fru-Fru” model embodies the experimental spirit of Italian postmodern lighting. Referenced in Luce Lampade 1968–1973: Il Nuovo Design Italiano by Fulvio and Napoleone Ferrari (Allemandi, 2002, Tav. 168), it combines chrome-plated steel, opaline glass, and curved white methacrylate to striking effect. The chrome cylinder base supports a domed glass diffuser, surrounded by wave-like methacrylate panels that soften the light and lend the piece a playful, ruffled silhouette. Elegant yet whimsical, this lamp reflects Becheroni’s artistic precision and the free-form innovation of 1970s Italian design.
Condition: Very good vintage condition. Minor oxidation to the inner chrome; no deformation or yellowing. Two light options, fully functional.
