Postmodern Danube 850 3-seater sofa by Ettore Sottsass for Cassina 1992

Ettore has drawn many iconic designs for his own founded Memphis Group, where he was one of the founders of. One of his clients at a later stage was Cassina, for which he designed mostly in 70s, 80s and early 90s.
The Danube sofas are characterized by a blacked metal frame with coloured upholstered fabric to cover the side and back edges. The frame provides for a full sheltered seating position, providing for a bit of a love seat effect. The inside is upholstered with thick high quality leather zippered pillows with armrests on the outer edges. The entire sofa is built in typical Cassina fashion, very high quality.
This specific sofa features a petrol grey leather and blue inserts for the fabric.
The sofa is in very good condition, with some minor wear on the fabric inserts and metal frame. The leather is in excellent condition.
