The Chock side table embodies a harmonious blend of minimalist aesthetics and functional craftsmanship.
Unlike conventional assembly methods, the Chock side table features a wedged through-tenon that elegantly secures the top to the base, eliminating the need for screws, nails, or glue. This innovative approach enhances the table's structural integrity while evoking a sense of tranquility and playfulness.
The tabletop connects to the base slightly offset, rather than at the center, creating tension and playing with the viewer’s perception of balance. Each wedge is ebonized to create contrast, then shaped and fitted to each table individually.
Handmade in Switzerland using solid oak and traditional joinery methods, the CHOCK side table is a unique piece of functional art.
