This rare vintage Soloform 5008 chaise longue, designed by Hans Hartl for Eugen Schmidt in Darmstadt, Germany, in 1953, is an exceptional example of post-war West German modernist furniture. Its distinctive organic, asymmetrical silhouette reflects the experimental design trends of the early 1950s, combining sculptural elegance with exceptional reclining comfort. The professionally reupholstered lounging surface rests on a sleek chrome-plated tubular steel frame, creating a refined contrast between soft upholstery and industrial materials. With its flowing lines and innovative construction, this collectible chaise longue makes a striking statement in living rooms, reading areas or design-focused interiors. Presented in very neat vintage condition, with age-related signs of use and light surface rust on the metal frame. A distinctive piece of German design history.
