This iconic Karate lounge chair and matching ottoman, designed by Michel Cadestin for Airborne in France during the 1960s, is a striking example of French Mid-Century Modern furniture. Featuring sculptural white fibreglass shells supported by tubular steel frames, the set combines bold geometric forms with exceptional seating comfort. The seating has been professionally reupholstered in high-quality cognac-brown leather, creating a warm contrast with the white shells and metal structures. Its distinctive silhouette and innovative use of materials reflect the experimental spirit of 1960s French design. The fibreglass shells and tubular steel frames display age-related signs of use and patina, preserving their authentic vintage character. A collectible lounge set, ideal for modernist interiors. Sold as a set of one armchair and one ottoman.
