Adamo Highback Chair with Silhouette in Pine by Ugo Marano, 1978
SAFE PAYMENTS
This radical Italian chair, designed by Ugo Marano, stands out for its simplicity and bold design. The high-back chair is made from pine wood and consists of just four elements, with the backrest featuring a particularly interesting detail. The chair's vibrant orange-red hue radiates warmth, while the knots and flame markings in the pine wood create an attractive texture, forming a kaleidoscope-like effect when viewed through one's eyelashes. The shaved base of the legs adds to its visual lightness, as the frame doesn't sit flush on the floor but instead gives the chair a delicate, almost floating appearance. The seat is slightly raised, providing an ergonomic compromise for comfort. One striking design element is the abstract human figure or silhouette that protrudes a few millimeters from the wood, secured to the edge of the backrest with dowels. The chair remains in good condition, showing diffuse scratches and minor wear, adding to its vintage character.
