Very rare model of a rocking chair coming from Czechoslovakia from circa 1950s, perhaps made by ULUV manufacture. It features beautifully shaped wooden frame and ergonomically designed seating. The wooden base has been cleaned and refinished with oil that gave it a natural finishing touch. The seating was reupholstered with thick boucle fabric from Nya Nordiska brand, adding a contemporary flair to its classic design (fabric composition: 70% linen 15% wool, 10% viscose, 5% polyester), as the producer describes it „a delight to the touch. This heavy upholstery fabric with its fluffy texture cries out to be caressed. Natural fibres with an inherently irregular surface texture make for cosy interiors”. The result is a striking blend of vintage charm and modern allure, promising a stylish addition to any living space. Simple and elegant form brings to mind Vladimir Kagan style but the author of this project remains unknown. The chair is absolutely comfortable and unique!
