Iconic dining set by Afra & Tobia Scarpa for Molteni, 1973, consisting of six Monk chairs and a matching extendable table. The chairs feature solid beech frames with sculptural, flat lines and seats/backrests in tightly stretched black core leather, attached with exposed screws that highlight the industrial aesthetic. Ergonomic comfort is achieved without upholstery thanks to the natural tension of the leather. The extendable table mirrors the chairs’ geometry, with solid beech construction, warm-toned finish, corner-positioned legs for legroom, and a central joint with synchronised pull-out mechanism and two insert panels. In very good vintage condition: leather with light creasing, wood with minor scratches, and the extension mechanism intact and functional.
