Exceptional PK27 lounge chair, designed in 1971 by Poul Kjærholm for E. Kold Christensen, Denmark. Produced only until 1974, it is one of Kjærholm’s rarest works, notable for its unusually warm use of materials. The elegantly curved seat shell in multi-glued plywood with maple veneer rests on a bentwood base, with suspension via elastic rubber elements that give both springy comfort and visual lightness. A removable cushion in natural brown chamois leather, with bold cross-stitching, mirrors the geometric shell while the back showcases the fine maple veneer. Recently reupholstered with high-quality materials, the chair is in excellent condition, with minimal wear to the wood and fully functional suspension. A sculptural, museum-quality piece of Danish modernism. Dimensions: L70 × W72 × H70 cm; seat height 25 cm.
