Rare Johnson Wax desk, model 617, originally designed in 1936 by Frank Lloyd Wright for the Johnson Wax Headquarters in Racine, USA. This edition was produced by Cassina in 1992 under exclusive license from the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, with only 500 black examples ever made. No. 319 of the series, it features an elliptical black lacquered wood and metal structure with brass details, a raised secondary tier, semi-circular drawer unit, and a suspended wastebasket. The architectural lines embody Wright’s organic design philosophy. Signed on the underside with Cassina label and Wright’s signature. A highly collectible 20th-century design icon. Good vintage condition with light wear.
