Set of 2 Pumpkin Armchairs by Pierre Paulin for Ligne Roset, 1970s
SAFE PAYMENTS
The Pumpkin Armchair by Pierre Paulin for Ligne Roset, designed in the 1970s, is an iconic piece that blends bold design with luxury. Originally created in 1971 for French President Georges Pompidou’s private apartment at the Élysée Palace, the chair’s distinctive round shape is reminiscent of a pumpkin, making it an unforgettable design.
Paulin used moulded strips of wood wrapped in foam to achieve the chair’s ergonomic form, combining both comfort and artistry in a unique, sculptural way.
Initially designed for a specific and elite space, the chair was later produced in large-scale, becoming one of Ligne Roset's most recognizable and desirable designs. The set of two chairs is available for purchase, but individual pieces can also be bought.
These chairs have been reupholstered, ensuring they maintain both their timeless aesthetic and modern appeal while offering the luxurious feel they were originally intended to provide.
