The family-run company Wilhelm Knoll was founded in 1865 and quickly became known for its high-quality leather furniture. From 1925 onwards, Walter Knoll was an important representative of the avant-garde and focused on the production of Bauhaus furniture. The Knoll Antimott product line was developed by Wilhelm Knoll in the 1920s, and the first Antimott armchairs were designed for the lounge areas of zeppelins.
