A remarkable 19th-century wrought iron fireplace screen, crafted around the 1880s and attributed to Spanish or South European blacksmithing traditions. This substantial piece combines function and artistry, featuring five candle cups integrated into its design, ideal for large pillar candles or small decorative planters. Entirely hand-forged, it showcases intricate scrollwork, volutes, and twisted iron bars that reflect the skill of late 19th-century craftsmanship. The heavy curved feet provide excellent stability, while the original oxidized dark patina reveals its authentic age and artisanal origin. Both sculptural and practical, this rare screen can serve as a striking decorative accent, floor candelabra, or distinctive room divider. A true statement of historical craftsmanship and timeless design.
