Round Coffee Table In Bird's Eye Maple And Aluminum By Sergio Saporiti
SAFE PAYMENTS
Designed by Sergio Saporiti in the early 1980s, this coffee table is a standout piece that reflects the boldness and craftsmanship typical of Italian design. Known for their use of bird’s eye maple, Saporiti pieces—especially those linked to designers like Giovanni Offredi—balance aesthetics with enduring quality.
The table features a Memphis-style influence with a subtly off-balance composition. A thick, angled stem connects the round aluminum base to the lacquered bird’s eye maple burl top, creating a dynamic visual contrast. The underside in dark lacquered oak adds further depth and texture to the piece.
Despite minor wear, such as light scratches on the base, the table remains in good condition—a bold and collectible example of 1980s Italian design.
