This iconic FD 516 coffee table, designed by Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen for France & Daverkosen in Denmark during the 1950s, is a refined example of early Danish Modern furniture. Featuring an elegantly shaped tabletop, slender tapered legs and a distinctive suspended rattan magazine shelf, the table combines sculptural simplicity with practical functionality. Its light, architectural silhouette and carefully considered proportions reflect the exceptional craftsmanship of this influential Danish design partnership. An early production example, the table retains its original France & Daverkosen maker's mark underneath, confirming its provenance. The tabletop has been professionally refinished, highlighting its natural beauty. Presented in very good vintage condition, with only minor age-related signs of use. A timeless Scandinavian design classic for sophisticated living spaces.
