This Danish Modern extendable dining table, attributed to Sven Ellekaer, was produced in Denmark during the 1960s. Crafted in teak and teak veneer, the table is distinguished by its sculptural underframe, with substantial tapered legs rising into curved shoulders beneath the top to create a subtle floating effect. The rectangular tabletop features gently rounded edges and extends from 160 to 210 cm with a central 50 cm extension leaf. The table measures 85 cm deep and 75.5 cm high. A faint numerical production stamp is visible, but no designer or maker label is present. The attribution is supported by provenance from the same household as a documented Ellekaer sideboard and by similarities to his sculptural furniture, but remains unconfirmed. Presented in good vintage condition with light scratches, marks, edge wear and natural patina. Some tonal variation is visible between the tabletop and extension leaf. The extension mechanism functions correctly and the table is structurally stable.
