The Afrodisia table lamp, designed by Francesco Castiglione Morelli for Artemide in Italy in 1992, is a distinctive example of Italian Postmodern lighting. Featuring a tall white opal glass diffuser, chrome-plated metal supports and an adjustable black spherical spotlight with a red-tipped arm, the lamp combines sculptural form with versatile illumination. Its adjustable spotlight provides focused lighting or can be directed towards the conical glass shade to create a soft, atmospheric glow. Selected for the 1992 Nuovo Bel Design exhibition, Afrodisia reflects the experimental spirit of 1990s Italian design. The Artemide manufacturer's markings are visible on the base. Crafted from glass, metal and plastic, the lamp measures approximately W 14 x D 14 x H 38–39 cm. Presented in vintage condition with age-related signs of use and photographed illuminated.
