Crafted from solid elm and cognac leather, the chairs combine substantial natural materials with restrained architectural proportions characteristic of French rustic modern design. Square-section elm frames with softly rounded edges support thick leather seats and backrests, wrapped directly around the wooden rails with visible stitching and sculptural cut-outs. The original leather has developed rich tonal variation and a pronounced natural patina that contrasts beautifully with the warm elm. Each chair measures 50 cm wide, 47 cm deep and 82 cm high, with a seat height of 45 cm. Presented in good vintage condition, with creasing, scratches, surface marks and natural crazing to the leather, plus light knocks and wear to the elm consistent with age and use.
