Featuring a large solid wooden top, possibly walnut, the table incorporates a sliding mechanism that reveals a deep storage compartment, originally designed to be secured with a lock for safeguarding money, documents and valuables. An additional large divided drawer provides further practical storage. Its sculptural silhouette is defined by elegantly curved legs, a low stretcher frame and subtle geometric detailing. The wood displays a rich, naturally aged colour and beautiful patina, with visible signs of use and historic woodworm holes, now inactive. An unusual piece of antique European furniture, ideal as a characterful desk, console or statement table in classic and eclectic interiors.","brand":"Selective Collection - 20th Century Furniture","offers":[{"title":"Product","offer_id":67762860130620,"sku":"BE_12240","price":2708.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0829\/9390\/5980\/files\/antique_european_bankers_or_rent_table_with_sliding_top_and_hidden_storage_possibly_walnut_18th_century_first.png?v=1792395963","url":"https:\/\/curiouz.com\/products\/antique-european-bankers-or-rent-table-with-sliding-top-and-hidden-storage-possibly-walnut-18th-century","provider":"Curiouz","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
